Bill Jenkinson, leads the conception of ideas for the Homes platform and is challenged as to how these can be turned from ideas to propositions, projects, products, and eventually commercial offerings that make an impact in this market. 

Bill has expertise in delivering multi-million pound innovation programmes, creating commercial propositions and developing products in a range of areas including low carbon technologies, consumer focused energy innovation not just in the UK but in several countries across Europe.

Bill brings a wealth of practical experience of how technology can be integrated into the home environment and has the ability to take complex, technical concepts and bring them to reality ready for deployment.

Bill feeds into the development of the Catapult’s Living Lab and Whole Energy Systems Accelerator, an agile and scalable real-world trial and demonstration environment for home energy innovation. The Living Lab currently includes 2,700 homes across the UK, has smart heating controls and enables the monitoring of a range of in-home low carbon technologies. Our experts use this to help innovators rapidly design, market-test and launch new home energy products and services that have consumer appeal.
